Hi, I’m Sophia…
I currently live in the place I was raised, in central New Jersey, near the Delaware River. Early on in my life, I discovered that a 9-5 workday structure was a delusional way to live and I was lucky & brave enough to follow that intuition into a different way of living.
Not seeing any models for the life I wanted to live in the traditional system I had been steeped in, I decided to travel. I graduated from college in 2015 and set off on a quest of self-discovery.
In early 2016, I was living in Sydney, Australia and happened to see a flyer for a free meditation class. The 8-week class blasted my mind open in ways I could have never imagined.
It inspired me to take a natural route to healing and understanding my psoriasis, an auto-immune disease I had been navigating for some time.
Flash forward to 2018, I was living in Santiago, Chile when my grandfather, one of my “soul-mates” in this lifetime, passed away. His death allowed me to see that I had strayed away from myself and the life I wanted to live. I ended an unfulfilling relationship and booked a flight to study traditional Hatha Yoga at an Ashram in the north of Thailand.
The Yogic teachings clicked into place immediately and I stayed for two months, completing 500 hours of study. I committed myself to sharing these transformative practices, plus the wisdom I had gleaned from my own life experiences.
I was led back to my home place of New Jersey in 2019. I retired from my life as a nomadic, hippie traveler, and began explore the deeply fulfilling, though less glamorous, work of tending to my nervous system and my heart.
I was scared that when I stopped traveling I would lose myself, as I felt I had once before, but in fact, the opposite was true. I found the Self I had been searching for all those years was here, waiting to unravel, wherever I planted my feet and opened my heart.
