ripples from the past

Every where I go I’m reminded of memories from not so distant past. I’m in both awe and disbelief at the patterns and circumstances that play out in my life again and again. I am reminded of the sheer power of this existence.

My decisions about where to live, or what to do, are not as important as they may have seemed. They are meaningful, yes, because within them is the power of free will. Yet they are also fading, passing, impermanent passing phenomenon and the universe, the universe will guide me to exactly where I need to be.

With or without the wild worldly travels or the sweat serving jobs, with or without the medicine ceremonies and the pledges to be healthy, I will always be met with my fate. It is unescapable. The message I am receiving again and again is to release the controlling and contriving. Let go of transactional outlooks on life. As if what I do or do not do will change the course of my life. Of course it will, and at the same time, all roads lead to home. I will always be met with the experiences I and met with. With or without my help. I believe there are different “timelines” or “pathways” you can choose to embark on, but ultimately, the creator is guiding us home.

I submerge into February 2019 soaking in the words of reflection given to Shambala, a camping, festival, gathering experience I attended in Thailand at a (like always) pivotal time in my life. The similarities are remarkable. I feel as if I could be reading a description of the gathering I attended a few weeks ago in Western, PA, Anahata’s Purpose. I look at photos of hippies with armpit hair and remember the wanting that I felt, feeling like an outsider who found a new home yet had not yet settled in. I remember feeling as if I was on the outside looking in. I think I am that hairy hippie now.  My self-confidence has drastically increased as my self-identity continues to form. What an odd & special thing we have as humans. I’m reminded that truly wherever I bring my focus and energy, life will transform and merge with that reality.
